Do I need Insurance to Rent a Speedster From Kona Classics?

The renter must provide proof of an active insurance policy in the primary renter’s name. The policy must provide collision, comprehensive, and liability coverage that transfers to your rental. Even if you drive a 1996 Honda Accord your full coverage insurance will cover in all 50 states. American Express offers “Premium Insurance” that can act as your primary insurance during your rental period.

If you cannot provide proof of insurance then you may purchase insurance from us for a daily rate.

Does Kona Classics Require a Security Deposit?

Yes, we require a security deposit. The deposit amount is specific to each vehicle and can range anywhere from $1,000 – $3,000. Cash deposit retainers will be returned after the rental period if no damages are incurred during the term of the rental. If any damages are found once the vehicle has been returned we will provide you with an onsite evaluation, and deduct it from your deposit.

What kind of payments does Kona Classics Accept?

We use stripe for payment processing. Cashier’s checks or personal checks are accepted if delivered to us 7-10 days before rental. They can also be given as a form of payment at our discretion for damages obtained during a rental.

How old do I have to be to rent a car from Kona Classics?

You must be at least 21 years of age to rent from us. You must not have any severe moving violations and/or DUI cases on your record. If so, there is a possibility your rental agreement and or reservation will be denied. If you are under the age of 21 you may inquire with us for more information.

Can I add another driver?

Yes, you can add up to two drivers to your rental agreement, the same rules and regulations apply for additional drivers such as age (21yrs old), full coverage insurance and a clean driving record.

Can I cancel my Reservation?

Once a reservation is made with Kona Classics you agree the fee is non-refundable. We can reschedule you for no fee as long as the request is made one month before your rental date. If you reschedule within the one month time-frame you will only be eligible for a 50% refund

Fuel, Driving Tickets, Towed Vehicles, Parking Tickets and Red Light Camera Tickets

The refueling charge for a rental will be $6/gallon.

Driving tickets:

Each driver is responsible for there own driving citation’s and driving tickets.

Parking tickets and red light cameras: The renter is fully responsible for any parking citations, and red light camera tickets during the rental period.

Towed vehicle:

Any towing charges or damages incurred during the rental cycle will be deducted from the deposit and/or billed to the client. The client can continue the rental after the charges are paid and the vehicle is released.

Can I return my car a day or more early?

We charge the full amount of the rental in advance or on the day of the rental. Once a vehicle is reserved we are not allowed to rent the vehicle during the days of your rental period. If you cancel early you will be given a credit for future rentals in the amount of days left during your rental period.

How many miles do I get?

Miles are restricted to 150 miles per day. If you surpass those miles you will be charged an additional $4.00 per mile. These fees are applied only when vehicles are returned and discounted from the deposit.

We provide a discounted miles package if you want to prepay miles before the commencement of your rental. You will only pay $2.00 per mile

Can I go anywhere with the Porsche Speedster?

Below are some scenarios that are not allowed by Kona Classics:

• for any illegal purpose or in connection with any illegal activity

• to exceed any posted speed limits

• by anyone not licensed to drive or whose Driver’s License has been suspended or restricted to carry persons or property for hire

• to push or tow anything

• to teach anyone to drive

• on any rough roads. Only allowed on graded roads that are regularly maintained, Must maintain a slow speed, If rock chips are found from excessive speed off road you will be charged for the paintwork.

Will you deliver/pickup the Porsche Speedster?

Delivery or Pickup comes with a fee, this fee depends on the location of the delivery. Rentals that extend longer than 3 days get free delivery! If you do not see your location please call for a delivery quote 808-987-3835
